Oz had cleaned up as best he could, but there was only so far water and soap went. They're been running tests on a level five who woke up half way...the amount of blood. She died in the end, but she was probably dead long before that, just didn't know it yet. It wasn't like this was the first time he'd seen blood, nor the first time he'd seen someone die, but there was something about seeing someone's eyes when they powered down that you just...just never got used to, it reminded him of a machine being turned off, maybe, maybe that's all we're built to be.
Oz smirked at the thought, yeah he had to be slipping off the deep end if he was thinking that. He was actually lucky he wore glasses for maybe the first time in his life. The blood had hit his lenses, but not his eyes, though he was getting tested again to be sure, his hands were red with the stuff, it had seeped through his gloves and his coat was a sickening shade of pink. He craved a nice long shower...and maybe some personal time with Dyr. But first he needed a cigarette.
Oz wasn't a huge smoker, but he did occasionally, on those really rough days. He took off his glasses, leaving them on a coffee table in the hallway and closing his eyes with a deep sigh. Well at least that disaster was finished, and there tests inconclusive as ever, how fun. Oz pushed himself off the wall and looked for somewhere to stub out the cigarette as he wasn't actually meant to be doing that inside

Lucia sighed as she took two more motrin. The headache she had for the last three days refused to go away. At first, she was a bit scared that she had caught the virus. It really wouldn't have surprised her...but that still didn't mean she wanted to contract it. She walked along the hallways. Her cane making soft clicking sounds as she swung it over the floor. But the good news was that is was just a cold. She herself had to take those blood tests. But it was all a part of this mess. She had heard that several of the doctors were running tests on a level five. She didn't know yet that she had died. She stopped as she suddenly smelled smoke. Was that-?! She knew this place like the back of her hand. She knew that this was Oz's room. Ozwlad...Oz...she didn't care...she smiled michevously as she just stood there in front of his door. "Ozwald! Please tell me you are not smoking inside!" she barked out angrily as she waited for him to respond...

Oz had his eyes closed, he didn't even hear the soft clicking of her stick, he was just far too distracted with what had gone wrong to be paying attention to the world around him. She'd woken and pulled out of the restraints...god and the needle cut into her arm and snapped she had grabbed his throat and tried to strangle him before one of the other doctors just stabbed her in the throat killing her almost instantly. Oz had been covered in blood and the body was still in there. And guess who was lucky enough to get to clean it up. Yup you guessed it, lucky lucky Oz.
"Please just don't let me be infected" he thought to himself, it was times like this he half wished he had a faith, but then again had he he'd probably be damn angry at whoever allowed this to happen, shame that.
Oz nearly jumped out of his skin as Lucia barked at him, dropping his cigarette onto his front and burning himself with it, oh fun. "No Of course not..." he muttered lamely, stepping on it and waving his hands in the air to try to get rid of the smell, he'd pick up the ash as soon as she wasn't able to tell what he was doing anymore "Wait, how'd you know it was me...?" he just couldn't help asking...yeah, way to go with sucking up to the boss by pointing out her blindness Oz, kudos

"Oh shut up!" Lucia growled as she took her cane and slammed it into his knees. She had told the fool not to do that! She scoffed as she listened to him try to squeeze his way out of not getting into trouble for not smoking, "Oh don't give me that bull shit. I can smell it on your breath. And how many times have I told you to take that nasty habit outside?" she growled and she just shook her head. "Oh forget it. I heard you were doing test on a level five. How did-?" she stopped as the familar scent came to her nose. Blood. It was blood. Her gaze turned hard and cold as she lifted her head toward Oz."There's blood all over you. What happened?" she said, her voice just as cold as her facial expression. She wanted answers and she wanted them now!

"Ah Shit!" Oz hissed as she hit his knees causing him to jump back and bend over to protect them instinctively. God he hated when she did that, still, it beat the beatings he'd get in prison, until this place was worse than that he was staying put, so he was pretty much as they say on American T.V., Lucia's bitch. The thought made him laugh a little. Yeah like he'd ever be that to anyone, he was in debt to her sure, but he didn't belong to her.
"Yes I just...after the mess in there..." Oz stopped and shook his head, what was he meant to say 'I didn't think I'd get caught?' Yeah, Oz she might be blind but he doubted he could ever trick her into thinking he was an innocent...well, anything, after all she was allowing a criminal to work for her, not to mention his drug habits (though he wasn't sure if she knew about them or not)
Oz's hands were still shaking as he put them to the bruises on his throat "I kept telling you, and I know you said it would kill them but the level fives are becoming resistant to, well, everything...even the anaesthetic she woke up on the table, pulled the restraints right off and fucking tried to kill me." he hissed, not at her, but just in general at the situation and from the pain in his neck which increased with thinking about it "if you don't mind I'd like to take at least and hour off to wash the blood out and get myself tested again"

Lucia smirked very subtly as she heard him yelp. Ah she would never get tired of doing that. To anyone really but especially to Oz. Some might say she hated him but she really didn't. She just wanted no mistakes. The people in this town couldn't afford any mistakes. She listened as the other spoke. Hmm...this would require more thinking, more tests, more expiraments. "Have you thought about trying the tests on a lower level infected...? Then increasing the strength as the level increases?" she thought out loud. Hopefully it would give the idoit an idea. She scrunched her nose up as the smell of blood was burning it. "Please do. I mean if its burning my nose, then I can only imagine what you look like. So I'll be in the lab. Meet me there when your done." she said before walking on. Her can making slight clicking noises as it slid across the floor and into the wall...

"Well that's what we're trying to do but any of the infected over a level two are highly paranoid and some have sealed themselves in they're rooms" Oz shrugged, even if she couldn't see it he couldn't help but use everyday expressions regardless, habits die hard "The weird thing is they seem to becoming more resilient to just about everything, I mean there was this guy I was treating, positive for HIV, and now it's just gone, I've never seen anything like this. I'm thinking maybe if we could stop the levels getting worse it would be better than finding a way of killing it as the virus seems to live off just about anything else in the body, I mean it cures almost fucking everything but what damage has already been done to the body. I've never seen anything like it." Oz sighed "Hell never even heard of something like it..."
"Thanks." Oz muttered softly and turned towards the staff dorms. He spent a long time in the shower, it took so long before he actually felt clean and the get all the blood out of his hair and fingernails before he changed into some clean clothes and hurried back down to the labs not bothering to wear his coat or glasses as they were both destroyed from the blood, it's probably never get them clean, but it wasn't like Lucia could tell if he was wearing the coat or not so as long as no one pointed it out he should be fine.
"Alright I'm back," he nodded seeing the other two doctors had picked up the body and put it back onto the table

Lucia walked into the lab, her cane still making soft clacking noises as she walked. She went straight past the two doctors as they lifted the body up onto the table. She snorted as the foul smell hit her nose. Sometimes she just wanted to get sick. But she still had a reputation as a hard nosed bitch to upkeep. And needless to say, she liked knowing most people around here feared her. She began to reach out looking for the keyboard when she heard someone approaching her from behind. ”Yes?” she asked as she began to type a specific code into the computer that would allow her to access all of the files.
"Miss Rico I'm afraid we got some bad news for you." the young technician muttered as he gulped. He was definitely one of those people who were afraid of her. She smirked inwardly at this. God she loved being feared. She turned away from the computer and faced the man. She oddly knew which direction everyone’s faces were in whether they were taller or shorter then she was. She could easily follow the direction of their voices.
"What is it now?" she asked coolly. More mistakes?! Could anyone not do anything right around here?!
"We just got the most recent blood tests from Oz Bellamy. He has contracted the level virus. He's only at Level One right now but..." the technician trailed off as he saw the look of pure venom on the other’s face. Lucia was pissed! How did this happen?! After all the safety precautions!
"Have you told him yet?" she asked voice hard. It took her everything she had not to just shake this idiot and yell at him. But she had to keep her cool. She would take her frustrations and anger out on her pillows at night.
"No. We just got the results back now. What do you want me to do?" the technician asked not really sure if he wanted to know. But he asked anyways. He was the curious cat so to speak. And we all know how that saying goes!
"Well tell him of course! What are you an idiot?!" she growled back smacking him in the knees with her cane. He yelped as he leapt back and he just had that look on his face like he was about to swear. But he held it in. That was a good thing for his sake at least. "Give me a list of all the people who are level one and two!" Lucia barked the order out like she was a sergeant more then anything else. The young technician flinched as her sharp voice rang through his skull. He took up a clipboard and began listing names. Lucia heard one in particular that caught her attention.
"Kinsey Daimon...she's the one with that dog that keeps attacking my staff right?" she asked nonchalantly though she was anything but. That dog was a danger to everyone around her. She really should be put down. But she knew the girl wouldn’t go with that. But if that dog bit one more person then she would just have no choice.
"Yes..." the technician replied bitterly. He oughta know! He was one of the people Shia had attacked. "Are you coming up with something?" he asked cocking his head in confusion. That girl had only been here a week at the most…what did she want with her?
”Maybe but that doesn’t mean I have to tell you anything.” she retorted. She heard the door open and Oz’s voice as he approached. ”Now you got a job to do.” she said tilting her head towards Oz and walking off. The technician exhaled heavily. This wasn’t going to go down well…

Oz saw the technician and shook his head at the guy "Later alright? I'm really busy." he told him pulling on his spare glasses and wishing he'd a spare lab coat "Oh and don't tell Lucia I'm not wearing the coat it was absolutely destroyed by the level five earlier, could you write in to send me up a new one, good thanks." Oz smiled before half legging it down the corridor towards Lucia and smiled at her even if she couldn't see it and looked back down at the body, scrubbing up and pulling on some of the gloves
"Right well we might as well learn what we can from the body while she's here." Oz muttered looking down at the dead girl and frowned, a surge of dread running through him, god he never wanted to get that disease if it killed him, he looked exhausted and his tone had a certain tiredness to it. It wasn't that he was sick, just over worked, he probably sounded as though he was repressing worry from being tired, albeit a bit too well as he stifled a yawn having only two hours sleep over the last forty eight hours "So do you want me to do the autopsy or one of the coroners?" he asked, he knew how but he wasn't an expert in the field Oz paused and sneezed into a cloth he was required to bring around with him but thought nothing of it

"But-" the other just stopped as Oz spoke. He had learned the hard way to shut up when someone with a higer job speaks to you. The hard way being smacked in the knees with Lucia's cane every time he uttered a word while she was talking. He just nodded as the other asked for a new coat. To be honest, he never talked around Lucia unless he HAD to. Lucia glanced over at the other as he came up beside her. Her eyes narrowed a bit as he sneezed. She heard the stifled yawn and sighed, "Its not healthy to be going on such little sleep." she said softly. She was a bit worried to be honest. A) if he did get to a higher level, who she find as another doctor and B) she knew he wouldn't take it well. She didn't want a fight to break out. But still she wasn't going to tell them. That was their job, not her's! "Do whatever but I'm not gonna let you take more time off to get another shower." she said as she walked back toward the computer.

"Yeah well if you're not giving me the time off to shower your hardly about to give me the time off to sleep." Oz sighed shaking his head and sneezed again "Shit." he muttered shaking his head figuring the room was just dusty for the fifth time. He'd have put it together himself had be not been too exhausted from work, all he could think or dream about was finding a cure, well, that and sleeping with Dyr but that was a privet matter.
Oz smiled at the technician and took the new coat "thanks." he grinned before getting the other to hold it open for him as his hands were covered in the patients gore. He finished the job on the corpse before sending it to be cremated and sent to the family. "Finally done, I'm going to get some shut eye." he sighed looking up at the ceiling before sneezing into his hand again "Hey man, mind sending my results up to Lucia? I just want her to know I'm fit for work and all that." he shrugged thinking they'd come back healthy

Lucia sighed and jsut shook her head ignoring that comment. She had more important things to worry about anyways. She put on a pair of headphones and began to listen as the computer's speech program began to talk other telling her all that was on the screen. She was still ticked though. How could this have happened?! All the saftey percautions...and he still got it! Ok so she was worried about him all right?! Sure she didn't like the guy much. He was a criminal for god's sakes. But he still didn't deserve to get this virus. No one did. It just made her even more determined to find a cure. And she was going to find it, even if it was the last thing she did. She was going to find a cure for this. She took off the headphones and put them in a small drawer. She let Oz leave. "I'll give this to him." she said to the technician as she grabbed the files. She wanted to go back to her own lab anyways. At least then she would know where everything was. She walked down the hallways still thinking. She was what you might call obsessed with finding a cure. But she was the one who released it, she was going to be the one who destroyed it. She got to Oz's room and gently slid the file under the door. Then she went back to her room...
